Rod Galloway (MEd) has been the Principal at George Street Normal School for seven years. Rod has twice been the recipient of a Woolf Fisher Fellowship and in 2009 was a Visiting Fellow at the University of Edinburgh. Rod is a former school adviser for Massey University and in 2003 was Principal of the Runner Up School of the Year. Rod has a strong interest in Strength-based Learning, is Chairman of the New Zealand Foundation for Character Education and has been referred to as ‘The Singing Principal.’ |

| Deputy Principal Anne Robertson (BTchLn, AdvDipTchg) is an experienced new entrant and models teacher. Anne has had many successful leadership roles at GSNS and also worked as a numeracy facilitator for the College of Education. Anne has responsibilities in the school that include International students, Taha Māori, and curriculum development. Anne is also our professional learning co-ordinator helping to lead our Information and Communication Technology (ICT) cluster involvement. Little willing helpers often gather at lunch times with Anne to form our Green Fingers environmental group. | |
| Leanne Hill (BEd, PGDipEd, DipTchg, Dip ESOL) is our other Deputy Principal. Leanne has led our senior team for a number of years, taught an advanced abilities class and has coordinated our school’s widely recognized development of the Key Competencies from the revised New Zealand Curriculum. Leanne has responsibilities in our school for Special Needs, Advanced Abilities, teacher education and curriculum development. A special interest for Leanne has been the establishment of our Learning Detectives programme that provides an important student voice in our school. Leanne is a former recipient of the University of Otago Emily Pankhurst Award. | |
| Assistant Principal, Keith Mulholland (BEd, Cert ICT) has a number of important roles at our school. As well as teaching children with advanced abilities, Keith is also our Senior Team Leader and ICT Lead Teacher. Keith is a strong advocate of Inquiry Learning using ICT as a daily, integrated teaching and learning tool. Keith is often found around our school coaching sports teams, sharing clever ideas with teachers or working with children on their latest ICT project. | |
