Principal's Welcome
It is very easy to be passionate about George Street Normal School. With a community of supportive parents, well-behaved children who are keen to learn and an outstanding staff, our school continues to prosper after 130 years.
Over these years we have built a reputation as one of the most popular choices for primary education in the wider Dunedin area. We have become well known for the quality of teaching, caring atmosphere, ordered learning environment, multicultural flavour and the additional opportunities that are offered to our children.
Some parents are unsure about what to expect from their child’s school.
For us, the success of our school begins with creating a safe place for all, where we encourage excellence and model positive relationships. We value parent partnership, effective governance, community involvement, creativity and fun.
