24 November 2011 - Term 4, Week 5
Taha Māori 2011
A continuing strategic goal at George Street Normal School is to strengthen delivery of Taha Māori and ensure all our children are achieving well. We have a strong commitment to enabling our Māori students to succeed academically and valuing Māori culture. As a result of this commitment our children have participated in Marae visits, Kapa Haka, specialist Te Reo lessons with Mrs Yeoman and classroom programmes that reflect our bicultural society.
Our Board of Trustees regularly receives student achievement reports on all our children. All parents and caregivers are warmly invited to a consultation meeting on Thursday 1 December at 7.30pm in our school hall when we will review the pleasing progress of our Māori children and think about targets for 2012.
