Whānau Nui

Thu 11/03/2021 - 05:30pm to 07:00pm

Kia ora koutou katoa

Towards the end of last year, we formed a new group called the Whānau-nui group.  This group was formed out of desire to strengthen the connection and partnership we have with our Māori families so that we hear your ‘voice’ in our school.   It is also an opportunity for you to strengthen your relationships with other Māori families as well.  We have also invited someone from Te Rūnaka o Ōtākou to come along as well as Sheralyn Weepers, our school’s Resource Teacher of Māori so you can have the chance to  connect with them as well.  Accordingly we would like to invite you to a family picnic.  The details are as follows:

When:  Thursday 11 March  2021

Time:  5:30 - 7  p.m

Where:  Dunedin Botanical Gardens - meet at the playground on the lower level.  If the weather isn't kind, we will have it in our school hall.

What:  bring your own tea, takeaway or otherwise

Purpose:  the opportunity to have a low-key night to connect with each other and to develop relationships.  There will be an  opportunity to share in 1:1 conversations with staff  regarding how you would like the Whānau-nui meetings to develop and how we might gather your thoughts surrounding our logo/vision.

We hope that you can make it and look forward to getting to know you better

Ngā mihi nui
