Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Our annual cross-country event is to be held on Wednesday 29 July.

The first groups of runners start at 10:30am.  We will be leaving school at 10:00am so will have an early morning tea and late lunch on that day.

Parents and friends are most welcome to stand around the course and cheer for the children. There is also a space inside the course, near the finish line, opposite where the children are assembled. There isn’t a lot of parking available in this area and you are very welcome to walk from the school with us.

Parents can help by:

  • Checking your child has clothing and footwear suitable for running

  • Making sure your child’s clothing is named, especially the ‘something warm to put on afterwards’, and make sure the layers are easy to put on and take off

  • On the day, giving your child a larger than usual breakfast and something ‘extra’ in their lunchbox, in case they are hungry (we are having a later lunch time so it would be a good idea to have a packed lunch rather than a bought lunch)

  • Checking your child has a drink bottle, named.

The first ten runners in the Years 5 and 6 races qualify for the OPSSA North Zone Cluster event Thursday 20 August with a postponement Thursday 27 August 2020.
