Cross Country

We were very pleased to get our George Street Normal School Cross Country held prior to all the rain.  Great efforts were made from our youngest Year 1's through to our Year 6's.  Children will now be selected to represent us at the North Zone Cross Country race to be held later in the month.

Year 6 Technology visit to Dunedin North Intermediate

Today the Year 6's visited Dunedin North Intermediate and participated in four teachnology experiences.  This is one of the ways in which we help the children transition from primary school to intermediate.


Year 6's Technology/Orientation visit to Balmacewen Intermediate

Yesterday our Year 6's had the opportunity to see what Balamacewen school looked like, meet some of the prospective/present pupiils and try their hand at some of the technology activities.  The expereience was deemed worthwhile by all.

Science Festival Team visits GSNS

Today the Science Festival team is in our school.  The Year 5 and 6 children will have the opportunity for workshops after the show.  The science festival is on in the holidays, if you are looking for something to do!

Board Of Trustees Elections 2019 Results

Thank you to everyone who voted in our recent Board of Trustees election. We are also grateful to those who stood for election, offering their support and expertise to governing our school.

Congratulations to the four parent-elected trustees returning: Maree McDonald, Mark Champion, Michelle Te Hiko and Che O’Neill, our teacher-elected trustee returning: Michele Dakers, and a warm welcome to our new parent-elected trustee: Greer Harper. In addition, at our first meeting this week, Ken Orchiston became a co-opted member of the Board, Mark Champion was elected as Deputy Chair and Maree McDonald was returned as Chairperson. We look forward to working with you all!

School Speech Competition

Over the past few weeks children have been preparing and presenting poems to their classes and teams.  Today we had our speech finals and were once again impressed with the high standards of presentation.  

The following children recieved placings;
