Kia ora, Talofa, Mālō e lelei, Bonjour, Ni hao - Hello!

It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you to George Street Normal School.

George Street Normal School:

  • is centrally located in Dunedin
  • has a close proximity to the University
  • welcomes children from all over Dunedin and from many different parts of the world
  • is an incredibly culturally diverse school and we celebrate the richness this brings.

Our Vision / Values:

  • to have Active Positive and Proud students
    • we want our children to be actively involved in their learning, to feel positive about coming to school and enjoying being here, and to be proud of what they achieve
    • we have a strong focus on helping children identify and work in their natural strengths
    • each child gets to experience success, value their own uniqueness and develop a positive sense of well being.  Because of this, we have very high achievement rates
    • we have a number of values that underpin the way we interact with others to help us to become 'the best we can be'
