Tania McNeill - Executive Officer

Tania is one of our fantastic Office Managers and works primarily with our school finances and oversees the administration of the school.  If you have any questions about school donations, payments for sports uniforms etc. Tania is the person to contact. 

Trish Duke - Office Manager

Trish is the one who often answers our phone and is the one who warmly greets you at the front desk.  She has a wealth of knowledge about what is going on in the school and will be able to help you with almost any of your inquiries. 

Jodi Homer - Office Manager

Jodi is our Office Assistant and has her finger on the pulse regarding the many things happening on a daily basis in our school.  Often Jodi will be the person you are speaking to on the other end of the phone or the person greeting you with a wonderful welcome when you come into our office.  Jodi has extensive knowledge about our International Student enrolments and is a great person to talk to if you are studying at the Otago University and want to enrol your child in our school. 

Wendy Butler - Office Administration  Assistant

Wendy is our office administration assistant and looks after lots of different things in our school.  She also shares the responsibility of the library and ensures it is well stocked and looked after.  

Jane Wilden (BEd, Dip Tchg, Cert SLD) - Learning Support Co-ordinator

Jane has spent many years in various classroom settings, and loves making learning enjoyable and attainable for all learners. Her classroom strengths include teaching Literacy, Maths, Inquiry and Music. She is an experienced  SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).  Jane has recently trained as a SPELD teacher, and completed a year long course learning all about Structured Literacy. Her passion is to find the best learning path for all learners, as she has walked this journey with her own children through their schooling days. 

Rob Wigley (MA, Grad Dip Tchg) - Music Teacher (Main side of the school)

Rob has recently moved to Dunedin with his family to take up the music specialist position in our school.  He loves to create a safe and enjoyable classroom atmosphere where children of all musical backgrounds can feel, sing, move and play music together.  Rob is also a composer and performer of children's music as part of the duo "Mr Roberelli".

Ruth Pereira (Bcom, GradDipTchg (Primary)) - Music / PE teacher (Juniors)

Ruth returned to George Street in 2020 after spending a few years living in Vietnam with her husband and 2 children.  She is a passionate teacher who has the ability to excite, motivate and hook students into learning through valuing their voice, responding to their interests/strengths and providing engaging learning experiences. Ruth has curriculum strengths in literacy, numeracy, physical education and te reo Māori. 

Tina Hsu- Science teacher (whole school) / Music teacher (Juniors)

Tina joined our team with a wealth of diverse teaching and life experiences. She is passionate about providing tamariki with hands-on science activities and enjoyable music experiences. Tina believes that engaging activities can profoundly impact tamariki’s learning and development. In her classroom, curiosity and questioning are actively encouraged, fostering a sense of wonder and exploration. Moreover, she prioritises collaboration and communication among her students, recognising the importance of these skills for their future success.

Colin Walton - Caretaker 

Colin joined our team in 2020 as our fabulous caretaker.  He works tirelessly to ensure that our school looks good, that things work and it is a safe environment for everyone.

Jameisha Sheridan 

Jameisha is our School Counsellor.  She works with children who might be struggling with friendship issues, challenges at home, grief, anger, anxiety, challenges at school etc.  Children can self refer, or be referred by parents, teachers or the principal.  All children who access Jameisha's services, must have a signed permission form by a caretaker prior to counselling. Chelsea Rhyne-Slijkerman  

Chelsea is another of our School Counsellors.  She works with children who might have low-level things happening in their lives e.g. struggling with friendship issues, challenges at home, coping with big emotions etc.  Children can self refer, or be referred by parents, teachers or the principal.  All children who access Jameisha's services, must have a signed permission form by a caretaker prior to counselling.
