School Enrolment

Enrolment at George Street Normal School is governed by an enrolment scheme.  The details of the school's scheme are available from the school office and on the school website.

If you live in the home zone of George Street Normal School, your child has automatic right of entry.  If you plan to enrol your child at George Street Normal School during 2027, but have not yet signalled this to the school, please contact the school office as soon as possible.  

If you live outside of the school's home zone, you do not have automatic right of enrolment.  Please read the following carefully.

OUT-OF-ZONE PLACES FOR 2027

The School Board has determined that there are spaces available for out-of-zone enrolments of new entrants in 2027.

There will also be a limited number of spaces available for out-of-zone students in other areas of the school.

Applications for enrolment of Out-of-Zone students for 2027 close at 1 p.m. at 1 p.m. on Tuesday 1 September 2026.  Please email the school office@georgestreet.school.nz to register your child of phone 03-474 0825 if you have any questions. 

If Out-of-Zone applications exceed the number of places available, a ballot will be held, which is governed by the Education Act and will be processed according to the priority order.
