Futsal is a popular sport at George Street Normal School and is offered to children in Years 0 - 6 and held at Edgar Sports Centre (116 Portsmouth Drive, Anderson Bay) each week.
Years 1-4: 8-week competition
Tuesdays, 13th October - 1st December
Game times: 3:45 PM – 6:00 PM
Years 5-6: 8-week competition
Wednesdays, 14th October - 2nd December
Game times: 3:45 PM – 6:00 PM
Parents will need to take responsibility for transporting their child to and from the Edgar Centre each week.
Football South would also like to point out that there may be a need to move certain divisions to different days depending on court availability and the number of registrations. They will only do this if needed and will give you plenty of notice to reduce any inconvenience.
The draw will be posted on Hero each week, but it is recommend to have the team manager send out this information to all parents each week as well.
Fees to play Futsal is $322 per team and will be advised when team numbers are confirmed - approximately $45 - $55
Sports uniforms are available at the school office to hire for the duration of the Futsal competition ($20.00) or you can purchase a GSNS sports top for $32 and GSNS sports shorts (while we have them in stock) for $25.
All children require shin guards and long socks. - a note from Southern Football Compulsory: Shin pads must be worn by every player. Players without shin pads will not be permitted to take the court until they are wearing them, there will be no exceptions with this, so please make sure ALL players have them for week 1, we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Each team needs to have a parent (s) to manage the team this involves subbing children on and off the court (to ensure fair amount of playing time) and choosing a player of the day. This job can be shared among parents. If you are able to COACH a team, we would love you to do so! Practice only needs to be 20 minutes and can be at lunchtime or after school.
If your child is keen to play and able to commit to the competition please fill in the registration form by Friday 11th September - payment will need to be made by the 9th October once team numbers have been finalised.
