We are proud of the multi-cultural nature of our school and have a well-integrated ELL (English Language Learner) programme. The programmes are designed to support and scaffold learning to cater for all students including:

  • ELL trained Teacher Assistants who work 1:1 or with small groups of children

  • Individual progress tracking for ELLs

  • Professional Development for all staff during staff meetings

  • Comprehensive resource folders/kits for all staff involved

  • Strong collegial and resources support

  • Four of our teachers having completed further ESOL study

  • Cluster meetings between schools to share strengths and tools

  • Lexia, a web-based literacy tool available to our children both in school and in their home

  • New children are given both cultural and logistical orientation

  • Families are invited to share in their children's learning on a termly basis and meet socially with others

Here is a selection of some of the children's work that they shared with their families in term 1.
